Inaka is my new favorite sushi restaurant. It's a wonderful local restaurant with a kind and caring staff. The food is always great and the place is nice and clean. It's located on Kempsville and Volvo, behind the gas station, and across the street from Harris Teeter. The parking lot is a little small, spots can be difficult during peak times. I recommend parking in the safe by the Smoothie place. Watch out for the spots marked 15 minutes. Inside is cozy. It seems big at first, but it's still a place you feel comfortable. There is two kinds of soy sauce on the table, regular and low sodium. You always have a napkin, a soy sauce dish, chopsticks, and a small plate. Their menu has lots of lovely sushi, there is often a specials menu too! There are some noodles, hibachi, and other kitchen dishes if sushi isn't for you. I really enjoy the sushi, the rice is nice and small and all the rolls have flavors that go together. They're accommodating if you want to swap out something or add a sauce. I've never had a messy roll here, so expect a tight roll that holds up as you eat it. The fish is fresh and tastes great. My favorite part here is the staff. This is what makes a good restaurant great. They are friendly and lovely to be around. I enjoy chatting when it's slow and I've enjoyed every experience here!

The staff here are so wonderful. Really. The servers are so kind and welcoming! The woman who greets us is always so friendly and has the biggest smile on her face :) and I can’t forget the sushi- High quality, great prices, best flavor. The staff are also accommodating for my husband’s gluten intolerance. My FAVORITE local sushi restaurant, thank you Inaka!!

The food here was great. The guest service was awesome, too. I had a to go order and the giy was very nice and attentive. If I had 1 negative, it would be that I'm used to a bigger variety of sushi... but I would recommend to anyone looking for some good food with low-key vibes

My first time at Inaka Sushi and it was incredible! I am a foodie and I LOVE sushi! Food was amazing and the customer service was top notch! Every single waitress was friendly and checked on me whether they were my assigned waitress or not. I was greeted when I first walked in. I ordered my food and it came out in no time just as fresh as it could be! I will most definitely be back. Thank you for an incredible dining experience!

My team has been out here for a few months now and a few of us love Sushi. We found this place and we love it. We have been coming here at least once a week since we found it. The atmosphere is very nice and the people are great! I have never eaten at a more friendly place during my travels. The interactions with the management and staff are always positive and they definitely remember their regulars. The food is...Amazing. We have had probably about 35 rolls here, the steak Hibachi and the shrimp dinner. The appetizers are great also. You can not go wrong with eating here. If we are ever back in the area, we will definitely be coming here for a visit.

This place is phenomenal. Small amount of seating which makes it feel like a hole in the wall kind of spot. We also order takeout often with special requests on the order. the owners always make a point to give us what we want, and if they aren't sure, they will ask. Phenomenal people and food! **Edit** Even after the past few years, this place is still our go to place. Food is great and the woman who works the front is absolutely amazing. Remembers faces, orders, and always offers things once she knows you. Customer service is 11/10!

This is the best sushi place in the whole state, and the best customer service I've ever had, hands down. My family has ordered online from here for a long time because the food was so tasty, and we finally decided to come in person. All I can say is.. wow. This place is even better in the restaurant and the staff redefines what customer service means. They knew exactly who we were by name as soon as we ordered because they kept track of online orders. They went above and beyond to make our visit and meal great. They are phenomenal and they genuinely care about their customers. Recommend 100 out of 10.

A great place for sushi and sashimi in general although they also have kitchen items if you're not into Japanese cuisine involving fish. Plenty of selection of rolls but you can also do a variety of entrees for nigiri sushi or sashimi or appetizers. While it can be busy at times, it's also one of the quieter sushi restaurants. The staff are polite and professional. They are following current respiratory hygiene guidelines. Recommended.
